Inspired By Purple Tones

This week I seem to be extremely inspired by purple tones. Blending various combinations of purple can create some great looks.

It all started with a simple nail polish change. I decided to start the week with a great color by Sinful Colors called “Fig”. I then went over that color with one coat of Pure Ice “Cheating” for a little sparkle.

Then it kind of took off from their with details like this vintage flower bracelet

Yep! I can definitely see myself playing with more purple tones as we move into fall.

Crazy For Cobalt

Hi beauties!

Today, the fam and I attended a BBQ which I honestly wasn’t looking forward to mainly because I had so much to do around the house. Fortunately, it actually turned out to be a really nice time.

To help get some pep in my step I decided to go with my favorite color as part of the OOTD, cobalt! I paired a pink maxi skirt with my “I am a woman of God” cobalt tee that I cropped on my own. I also decided to color my nails in SinfulColors “Endless Blue”. Love it!

As for my hair I haven’t yet loosed my curly fro at work so it’s pretty much become my go to style on the weekend. Today was no exception. Here are some pics

Serving a little twist out definition today

On the natural hair style menu today we have a simple updo with a little twist out definition up front.

Just after posting a blog entry about saving time by not setting my hair at night anymore I decided to test my theory again. Yep! It’s still true.

I spent about twenty minutes last night twisting my hair. I did some smaller twists up front and chunky twists in the back.

This morning I get up and got to work on trying to figure out how to style this mane of mine. After about 25 minutes of playing with different ideas I finally find one I’m happy with. Here’s the final look today and the step by step:

To achieve this look I set my hair the night before with about twelve small twists in the front and eight chunky twists in the back. I used Shea Moisture Curl & Style milk and Eco Styler gel for the twists.

In the morning I unraveled all of the twists. I separated the chunky twists started on the right side and twisted/tucked the hair up and around. Then I placed a few bobby pins to secure the hair. The front smaller twists were swooped to the side and secured with a bobby pin. That’s it!

While I truly love the final look I think I’ll reserve setting my hair at night for just a few times a month when I’m craving curl definition. Other than that I think I’ll keep my half hour at night and spend it with this little guy ❤

A Night of Coral Black & Inspiration

So…Saturday night I met up with an old friend and co-worker of mine who also to my surprise lives in Atlanta!

For my outfit I paired a high-low coral dress with some black leggings a black and silver belt and my black and metallic Carlos Santana heels. I kept the hair simple with a super high bun.

We had a great time catching up and indulging in some wine and dinner at a nice spot called Twist. Unfortunately for me she’ll be moving back to NY soon to embark on a new adventure. She is fearless and inspires me so much.

Last Week’s Best Hair!

Happy Sunday Beauties :o)

Just finished giving God glory at Sunday service and wanted to catch up on some blog posts.

Last week was another week of twisted awesomeness for my hair. I had some pretty decent creations but this was by far my favorite. I’ve been working at taking depth and dimension to the next level with my twisted styles and I absolutely love this one! If I can recreate this I’ll definitely do a tutorial for it.

Here are some pics. Have a blessed day!

Easy & Professional Yet Fun & Protective

I sure hope you guys aren’t getting tired of seeing these twisted updo’s ’cause there’s a lot more to come!! Lol!

Here’s how I got yesterday’s brand new look…

First I took a medium size section from the front and made a loose chunky twist to the left side. I pulled the rest of my hair into a ponytail. I split the ponytail into three sections and twisted each section loosely. I pinned down each section of the ponytail and pulled the front twist back and pinned it on the right side of the bun.

That’s it! Easy and professional yet fun and protective.
