2014 Natural Hair & Purpose Recap

2014 was definitely a year of natural hair creativity for me. From my highlights in February to my undercut in October I had so much fun with my tresses! Challenging myself to come up with unique styles virtually every day was tough but rewarding. It allowed me the opportunity to inspire other naturalistas. Those looks also landed me features on CurlyNiki, Curlbox, Essence.com and tons of Natural Hair social media sites like @naturalhairdaily, @protectivestyles, @naturalhairdoescare, @myhaircrush and @naturalhairmag

2014 was definitely a great year for my hair journey. Here are some of my favorite looks from the year.

The only thing more exciting was the launch of Curly Christians, the blog where Christ, curls and fashion collide. I am so blessed to have found a big part of my purpose in this amazing blog this year. As the Editor-In-Chief I pull two mega industries I adore and my passion for Jesus Christ together onto a platform that is inspiring thousands every day! God is so awesome. I can’t wait to see what incredible things 2015 will bring. One things fore sure, I’m ready!

My Crazy Cool Curlbox Features

Hello loves!!

I hope everyone’s ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus!! I know I am. I so love this time of year ❤

I wanted to do a quick blog post highlighting my crazy cool features by the Curlbox Crew. Curlbox is one of my absolute favorite Instagrm accounts to follow. They feature some of the most amazing natural hair pics. So when I saw that I was featured on one of their “Insta Talk” posts about holiday hairstyles last week I was pretty excited.

This was a look from last week that I did on flat ironed hair. It’s a total of two flat twists. Looks complex but not so much. Here are a few more pics.

Creativity Never Sleeps

Hello beauties!

So, it turns out that the saying “Creativity never sleeps” really is true. Earlier this week I had a dream about this awesome flat twist style. It was gorgeous! I thought I’d give a shot at accomplishing it on Monday. Fail. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice but not at all like what I visioned in my dream.

Today, I thought I’d give it another shot. Here’s the video of my effort which yielded another fail but an incredibly nice, unique creative fail! Lol. Let me know what you think.

This Hair

So I just wanted to do a quick blog post of this hair from yesterday. I was feeling all kinds of DOPE! It’s a fairly easy updo staring my undercut. Love it!!

Hope you all are having a great day! Here are some pics. Hubby’s probably throwing shade in that last pic because he’s tired of me wearing his shirts! Especially love the one I’m wearing in these pics! Hehe

Family, Good Food & Great Hair

Hi beauties!

After an awesome Thanksgiving Holiday in Tampa, the family and I are on our way back to Atlanta. It went by entirely too quickly but the family time was great.

Using my in-laws Christmas decorated front porch as a back drop for pics, the holiday hair was a mixed bag of twist styles and fros! Thanksgiving eve I went with this high twisted bun.

Thanksgiving day was a unique flat twisted updo. Really love how this one turned out.

Black Friday I though I’d let the Fro loose. As always it was very refreshing. It’s tons of textured gave me life which was much needed for the long day of shopping.

And lastly on Saturday a day filled with running around with a one year old and two three year olds I decided in a simple high bun.
