Hubby’s Birthday

Happy Monday luvs!

So this past Saturday was my hubby’s 32nd Birthday. His birthday always reminds me of the fact that I’m older than he is (3 years older). I’m totally ok with that, obviously, but it’s still a reminder. I just wanted to share some pics with you guys from Saturday.

Zavien decided that he wanted to make his dad a lion mask, which I thought was totally appropriate since it is Leo season.  He loved it of course.

After breakfast they went shopping for baseball gear. My Za Baby is starting his first sport (Ahh!) and David is assistant coaching. While they were out Zakai and held down the fort until his nap time at which point I decided to go get my life together. I wanted to do a pretty/girly look for the day that so could easily transition to night time since I made dinner plans for us that evening.

I decided on a subtle smokey eye, plum lips and a high pin curl bun.

After lunch time I surprised him with some Oreo cheesecake bites that he had been eying on Facebook. They turned out to be pretty tasty.

We just hung out the rest of the day until it was time for dinner. I deepened up my smokey eye a bit went for a softer lip and was all set.

I forgot to get a good picture of it but that diamond cross necklace he has on is what I got him. He loved it.

We enjoyed dinner at one of our favorite seafood restaurants, Marrieta Fish Market and called it a night.

That’s about it. Another year in the books for hubby. I thank God for him every day.

Until tomorrow luvs 😘

XOXO

2014 Natural Hair & Purpose Recap

2014 was definitely a year of natural hair creativity for me. From my highlights in February to my undercut in October I had so much fun with my tresses! Challenging myself to come up with unique styles virtually every day was tough but rewarding. It allowed me the opportunity to inspire other naturalistas. Those looks also landed me features on CurlyNiki, Curlbox, Essence.com and tons of Natural Hair social media sites like @naturalhairdaily, @protectivestyles, @naturalhairdoescare, @myhaircrush and @naturalhairmag

2014 was definitely a great year for my hair journey. Here are some of my favorite looks from the year.

The only thing more exciting was the launch of Curly Christians, the blog where Christ, curls and fashion collide. I am so blessed to have found a big part of my purpose in this amazing blog this year. As the Editor-In-Chief I pull two mega industries I adore and my passion for Jesus Christ together onto a platform that is inspiring thousands every day! God is so awesome. I can’t wait to see what incredible things 2015 will bring. One things fore sure, I’m ready!

Repping Fro Friday in the “A”!!

Hello loves!

Well, my family and I have officially moved to Atlanta! I’m so excited about this next chapter of our lives. God has been at the forefront of this move and we will continue to look to Him for guidance.

I was off from work all week to get us all settled in. Things have been great so far. I love our new apartment despite how much smaller it is from our house in FL. It’s perfect…for now.

I had the pleasure of running into natural hair icon and inspiration Natural Chica aka Nikki Mae in the grocery store. I spotted here mega fro a mile away. Kinda made my week!

And now in honor of Fro Friday I’m still rocking my fro in the “A”!!! Here are some pics.

The Birthday Blog Post

I am so blessed to say that I celebrated my 33rd birthday this weekend! In the midst of preparing for a big move to Atlanta, Ga my family and friends still managed to make it awesome!

I had lunch with my incredible mom on Friday and partied it up at Blue Martini that night with some of my favorites. It was so much fun! Good thing that it was because the rest of my weekend including my actual birthday on Saturday was spent packing and cleaning my house.

My son and I will be off to Atlanta this weekend to meet up with my husband and move into our new place. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about this move! God is doing some incredible things in our lives right now and greatness is coming!

Here’s a look at some pics from my birthday weekend including Friday hair which was prepped with Carol’s Daughter Styling Pudding :o)
