Mini Twist Prep

Hey luvs!

Sometimes your hair just needs a break, you know? I recently decided to give my hair a reprieve from styling by installing mini twists, my favorite protective style.

Before I actually install the twists I prep my hair with a 3 step process.

  1. Cleanse
  2. Condition
  3. Moisturize
  4. Chunky Twists

After these steps I then install my min twists. Of course I’ve got a video going through each of these steps in detail.  Click here to get all the deets on how I prep my hair for Mini Twists. That’s it for now!

My Go To Protective Style

Good morning luvs,

I’m super excited that my family and I will be traveling home to Florida for a the long Memorial Day weekend and my first Fearless Textures event which is this Saturday (Ahhh! 😝). I’ve got a lot of preparing to do and didn’t want to have to worry about my hair leading up to the event so, I decided that it was time to bring my go to protective style back, mini twists.

I absolutely adore mini twists. Not only are they super cute they are extremely low maintenance and still allow me to work with my own hair.  I’ve never been a wig, weaves, box braids, etc kinda girl. Mini twists have been my protective style preference since I’ve been natural. I can style them up or just let them hang. Either way, they are beautiful!

Mini Twists – Products, Tips & More

Hi Beauties,

Last month I decided to install mini twists in preparation for the new baby. I didn’t want to have to spend time thinking about my hair, but still wanted a style that was chic. Mini twists were the answer. Check out my video talking about the products I used some installation tips and more here. Loved rocking these twists!

All Wrapped Up

Good Morning!

I’ve recently become fascinated with the world of headwraping. I have no idea why I was never drawn to this style before but lately I have been adoring the difference a standard scarf can make!

I’ve mainly been embracing this look on wash days. I will wash my hair, moisturizer it, twist it, put on a satan scarf or bonnet and get wrapped up! I’m able to look really chic for the day just by taking a simple scarf from my wardrobe and wrapping it around my hair.

As for how I do the wraps, honestly, I make it up as I go along, lol. Here are a few different looks I’ve come up with. Not bad huh?

5 Extraordinary Crown Braids

Good morning beauties!

This morning as I was styling my hair I had the same thought that I have every morning “How can I take an ordinary style and make it extraordinary?” I am always looking for unique was to take typical styles to the next level.  It’s all part of that whole style innovation that I love.

Well today I decided to go for another unique rendition of the crown braid. I’ve taken a shot at this a couple of times before and although very different and may not be to everyone’s taste I’ve adored all of them.

While the standard crown braid focuses on framing your entire head with one single braid or twist I either add some unique aspects to that method or literally try to envision a crown and duplicate that look. Here’s are 5 of my most extraordinary crown braids (twists).

Different right!? So the next time you go to style your hair try to think of a way you can add a little flare to it and make it your own.

Twist Pull Pin & Protect

That pretty much describes today’s style! My hair was really dry this morning so I rejuvenated it with Some products from the Creme of Nature Aragan Oil line. Worked like a charm!

After I added some moisture back to my hair I really wanted to lock it in so I did several chunky twists around my head (Don’t mind my wisdom hairs).

Afte that I just pulled and pinned the twists down.

Finally I end up with a nice easy protective style that is allowing my hair to soak up all the goodness from the Creme of Nature products throughout the day! What do you think?

Something new!

Tried out a new protective style today. I think I like it. I love how my highlights offer so much dimension.

This simple style is just 3 ponytails with two loosely twisted sections per ponytail. The twisted sections in the first ponytail are pinned back to the left side. And for the second and third ponytails I pinned one twist up and the other down. Super simple!

For products I just use Cantu Shea Butter’s Curl Creme and Eco Styler gel for my edges. That’s it! What do you think?

Heavy on the cobalt

Today I decided to go heavy on the cobalt for no other reason than…it’s my absolute favorite color. Whether it’s in season or not I just can’t get enough cobalt.

Accented with golds and topped it off with this protective style twisted two bun updo. Hope everyone’s having an awesome day!
