Our Forever House!

Hey Luvs!

I’m back! And boy have things been crazy. First I want to say Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays. We spent Christmas and New Year’s Eve back home in Florida. It was great to see and spend time with family and friends but it was tough with Zakai. He is in a super clingy phase that didn’t allow for much kid free time AT ALL. But, ah well!

Now we’re back in Georgia and are starting 2017 with some really exciting news. If you follow me on Instagram then you may already know that we have closed on our forever home!

I can’t tell you how excited I am for my family to grow and build memories here.  The house needs a ton of work but we’re going to take it on in phases.  The first phase of renovations has already started and we’re forging ahead.  What an amazing start to the here.  God is so amazing!  If you’re interested in seeing a complete house tour click here.

That’s all for now.

Earth Tones For The Win

Good morning luvs,

What is it about simple neutral colors and earth tones that can make you feel so glam? Never mind red lips and tons of color (as much as I love color). Sometimes all you need are earth tones for the win. Check out this look I did full of beautiful neutrals.

I love how this look pops! The lip and eye combination just radiates. On the lips are two beautiful colors, Take it like A Vamp by Wet n Wild and Molten Bronze by Black Radiance.

The eyes of course are all compliments of my BH cosmetics 120 color palette, specifically the colors to the left of this level of the palette

The earthy colors are so beautiful. This definitely has to be one of my all time favorite looks.

Well, that’s all for now!

Holiday Glam

Happy Friday!

Hi beauties. Today I’ve got my first holiday look for you guys. It’s super adorable and features a really pretty glow and curls.

Typically my Twist and curls are pulled in my face but this time I wanted to do something a little different. I went for a part down the middle and loved it! You can check out how I styled my hair here.

For my makeup I went for a nice glow and a pop on the lips. Wet n wilds liquid matte lipstick in the color Take It Like A Vamp is the darker shade and I filled in the middle with Rimmel Light Year from the Show Off collection.

My shadows are all from my BH Cosmetics 120 color second edition palette. And the glow, the glow is compliments of the Maybelline Contour V duo stick which has some great illumination in the highlight side.

I topped off the glow with my NYX Pro Highlight and Contour Palette. Love the way it all came together A nice balance between glam and super cute.

Well, that’s it for now!

Bringing in Color for Fall

Hey Luvs!

Happy hump day. As much as I adore fall and darker colors sometimes I miss the brightness of spring and summer. Recently, I found a way to bring them together with one statement piece. A scarf.

As beautiful as this scarf is, I would have never picked it out for myself. My sister gifted it to me last Christmas and I finally brought it out. The orange and brown are quintessential fall, but that pop of teal screams spring and summer. Together they are everything!

I paired the scarf with super cute orange earrings I think I found at Forever 21,!neutral eyeshadow and a big pop on the lips with one of my favorite NYX Wicked lippies, Scandalous.

This scarf just pulled everything together. I have got to find out where she found this beauty! Well, that’s I for now.

Hey luvs!

Don’t you love Styles that are super easy to transition from day to night? Well, tonight I want to share a style like that with you guys. The day time look are some super cute double twisted buns and four Bantu knots.

I love how this style is so adorable but you can still slay wearing it. I think this is great for a casual family day out, or maybe just running errands. Whatever your day time plans are, you can easily transition this style into a more sexy nighttime style by simply unraveling the Bantu knots up front to reveals some gorgeous curls.

Scarf Season

Hey luvs!

So, technically it’s scarf season, however, here in Georgia we’ve been getting up to between the mid to high eighties every day! That’s entirely to hot to be wearing a scarf, but not too hot to incorporate it as a head wrap. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing. Check out these super cute looks starring traditional scarves tied as headwraps.

These looks are perfect for me on wash days or when I’m in a hurry and have to chose between my makeup or hair. Plus, I love how each of these looks still fit the fall season without making me hot in this crazy 80 something degree weather.

Each of these scarves are tied exactly the same and of course I’ve got a tutorial to show you just how easy it is. Check it out here.

That’s it for now luvs! Happy Friday!

Halloween Spider Makeup

Hi luvs!

I always consider Halloween a great opportunity to get super creative with my makeup. Last year I did a little spider web eye. It was pretty subtle but still fun and creative.

This year I decided to take the spider web action up several notches. I did some research on Pinterest and found this extremely impressive spiderweb makeup by MadeULook by Lex.

I love how crazy realistic this look is! I totally felt like trying to recreate this was way out of my league, which frankly made it perfect! I love a challenge. It’s the only way to improve. I used a simple black eyeliner pencil by Jordana and a few shadows from my bh Cosmetics palette. Here’s where I ended up

Although lacking a lot of depth I was very happy with the final look which I completed in 30 minutes. I used part of Zakai’s nap time to do it and that’s all the time he gave me.

Had tons of fun with this spider web makeup! Zavien was a pretty amazing looking Ninja. He was totally in character.

Zakai wore a batman onesie, but of course I didn’t snap any pics before daycare (uugghh!)

They both had s great time and of course we have tons of candy to show for all the fun tHey had.

Looking forward to next year!

Pumpkin Rice Krispy Treats

Happy Halloween Luvs!

I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed your Halloween. We had a pretty busy weekend full of excitement and possible new beginnings that I hope to share soon.

To end the weekend I spent last night making snacks for Zavien’s Kindergarten class for today.  I’ve been having a lot of fun getting creative with his snacks. I’ve done cereal butterfly bags and pencil wafers.

This time, I decided to go with Rice Krispy Treat Pumpkins!

Here’s what I used

  • Rice Krispy Cereal
  • Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
  • Butter
  • Mini Reces Pieces
  • Green Apple Airheads

Here’s how so did it:

Melt 3-4 Tablespoons of butter in pan on low heat

Add marshmallows (I honestly didn’t measure) and melt (stirring occasionally) on low heat

Remove from heat once completely melted

Add food coloring. I mixed red and yellow to make orange.

Next I added the rice Krispy treats. Again, no real measurement here, I just poured and stirred until I liked the consistencey. After that, I sprayed a little cooking spray on my clean hands and formed little pumpkins.

Once they cooled I turned them over so they would be more round and not completely flat on one side. I added a mini recess piece to the center for the stems and a small piece of green apple airhead for the leaf.

That’s it! Zavien and his class loved them. Oh…hubby did too. Well, that’s all for now.

Helloooo Curls

Hey luvs!

This week I decided to take one of the products from the October curlBOX for a drive. Of course curlBOX leveled up AGAIN with this months box and featured all full size products from one of my favorite product lines EVER! Quenching Coconut Curls by OGX.

I’ve been raving about this line for a year now and we’ll, nothing has changed! This is the most moisture rich live I’ve encountered. The products have so much slip and leave my hair hydrated and soft.

This time I decided to go with one of the products from the line I don’t use that often, the Curl Styling Milk.

I also decided to work with stretched hair which is also something I don’t do very often. The results were well…

Pretty awesome right!? Of course I have a talk through as I discover the results myself in a YouTube video. Check it out here.

XOXO
