So, this week’s best according to Instagram likes is Monday hair. I however think that the shape from Friday’s hair was amazing! Although I adored my faux bob from Tuesday the Friday Twist Out Roll & Tuck is my vote for this week’s best. Which look is your favorite?

Chop Chop!

So Monday night I got bold, again! I know, I’m a little crazy. Lol. I wanted to take my undercut to the next level so I gave hubby the scissors and the clippers.

I decided to take more off the sides and shape up the back a bit more. Love the results! Can’t wait to start creating with this look. Here are some pics

Purple, Boots & Blowout

Happy Saturday!

Hope you guys are having a great weekend.

I very rarely apply heat to my hair but today I decided to blow out my hair. I started with dry hair. I used Cream Of Nature’s Aragan Oil leave-in Conditioner and I also used Cantu’s Daily Moisturizer as a heat protectant. I sectioned my hair into 4 and applied the leave-in followed by the moisturizer and blew each section on low heat.

In the mood for some deep dark hues I thought I’d pull out the perfect fall color, purple and pair it up with my flat black lace up boots! The lips are Pagan Angel from Fergie’s Wet N’ Wild line.

Last Week’s Hair Recap

Hi beauties!

Another crazy week! But I wanted to give you guys a recap of my natural hairstyles from the week. Let’s jump right in.

This first was definitely the most popular style of the week. I got a lot of positive feedback on this one with interest on how I created the look. Think I’ll pull this one out and do a separate post with deets so stay tuned. To sum it up its a pompadour twist with a twisted bun.

This next style is a simple flat twist and a twisted bun. Loved this look.

Next look is three twisted buns with a lot if dimension. It looks complex but is super simple.

Up next, a pompadour and puff. This was a little different for me but I really like the way it turned out! Here’s a look at how I paired it up too.

And the last look of the week is actually my favorite. I pulled a twist forward and paired it with a high bun.
Love!

Classic Bun

Hellooo loves!

I hope you all are having a great weekend. Last week I wore a few different classic looks and here’s another I wanted to share.I gave you all a peek at this look in my Wet ‘N Wild MegaLast post, but wanted to give you the deets.

This is a really classic looking bun that I achieved by pulling all of my hair into a super high ponytail. I smoothed all of the hair together and forward, twisted the ends and tucked them under. I secured them with a bobby pin and that was it. Definitely enjoyed this look.

Sleek Faux Bob

So I decided to take a shot at a faux bob today. I had twisted my hair in about 6 chunky twists last night, pulled them back into a ponytail and banded the ponytail so my hair was already nice and stretched this morning.

From there I smoothed all of the hair down with my Denman brush and began to tuck it under. The hardest part about achieving this style is not having any hair to secure the bobby pins to. Because of my undercut I had to use several bobby pins to get the hair to stay tucked under. I was hoping to achieve a neck length bob but I got as close as I could.

Here are the final results. What do you think? Oh and in case you’re wondering, the lippie is VaVa Violet by Revlon. One of my fall favs!

Fresh Trim

Hubby hooked up the fresh trim today. It’s amazing what a difference it makes. So clean!

For the style a did two ponies. I separated each pony into two sections and twisted each one. I crisscrossed the two sections of the top pony towards the front and secured the twists with two bobby pins. For the back pony, I pinned one of the twisted sections up and the other down. That’s it!

Here are some pics. Hope you all had a great Sunday!

The Undercut’s Favorite Style

Helloooo loves!!!

It was another long work week. But I’m back with my undercut’s new favorite style…and mine! It’s definitely this big side pompadour. I am loving it. I especially love the fact that I can play with different variations that all end up dope!

This past week I wore the style for the first time to work and it got so much love.

How many ways can you wear a side pompadour? My new favorite game to play. Lol! Here are some picks…

I Love Playing Twister…

With my hair of course! You all know how much I loved twisted updo’s. Honestly, I can’t see that ever changing…unless I decide to do another full big chop. There is just so much versatility and opportunity for awesome styles. The options are endless because I am the architect! Before I go on and on about the awesomeness of twisted updo’s (which I easily can!) here’s a look at a couple of my creations this week. Hope you like them!

Bantu Knot Out Fail & Recovery

On the Curly Christians blog last month I did a post about the art of bantu knot outs. I have to admit, bantu knot outs is not an art that I have quite figured out yet. Yesterday I sported what I’d say was a solid attempt at a classic bantu knot style…after my initial style attempt failed. Let me take you through the evolution of the style.

I started with dry stretched hair. I used Shea Moisture Curl & Style Milk and Eco Styler Gel to do my knots.

I slept with a satin scarf and after an uncomfortable night sleep (these things are a beast to sleep on!) I went to work at unravelling the knots. At first glance they looked to have taken pretty well. So naturally I was excited!

20140903-113804.jpg

Then, as I started carefully separating them things started to go downhill. They did not separate with ease as I hoped and as a result the ends started to get frizzy. I tried to just go with it. Got all the way to work, took a couple of pics and quickly realized it just wasn’t working for me.

20140903-114206.jpg

20140903-114221.jpg

Soooo…I quickly improvised. I grabbed a couple of bobby pins and tucked the ends under. I managed to find a super quick and easy way to turn my frizzy not so awesome bantu knot out into a solid attempt at a classic style. Best I could do…considering.

I suppose I’ll just keep working at this bantu knot out thing until I get it down. Let me know if you have any tips!
