Hi beauties!
Today I went with a classic look and tried out some faux bangs for the first time. I didn’t want the complete retro style so I swept them to the side but I think I really like it. What do you think?
Last night I had a bit of free time and decided to set my hair in 5 chunky flat twists using Dark & Lovely’s Au Naturale Super Softening Hair Butter. This is the first time I’ve tried a flat twist out and I absolutely love the results! I didn’t do much for styling, pretty much just unraveled the twists.
This style is great for fall when the humidity is low. We’re not quite there in Atlanta so I’ll be staying inside today :o)

Hello loves,
I hope that you all enjoyed the 4th. In addition to celebrating our Nation’s Independence it’s also National Afro Day, who new! I sure didn’t. Naturalistas are encouraged to rock their kinky, curly fros in celebration.
Naturally I fully intended on participating. So, last night I put my dry hair in 8 chunky twists and pulled them back in a hair tie in an effort to add some length to my fro for today. I unravelled the twists and brushed them out with my denman brush.
I ended up loving the look but it wasn’t quite full enough to create the fro I was hoping for. Ah well!! Looks like I discovered another way to achieve a blowout look without heat!

I sure hope you guys aren’t getting tired of seeing these twisted updo’s ’cause there’s a lot more to come!! Lol!
Here’s how I got yesterday’s brand new look…
First I took a medium size section from the front and made a loose chunky twist to the left side. I pulled the rest of my hair into a ponytail. I split the ponytail into three sections and twisted each section loosely. I pinned down each section of the ponytail and pulled the front twist back and pinned it on the right side of the bun.
That’s it! Easy and professional yet fun and protective.
Hello everyone!
So, the onset of summer is bringing out all the bright colors in my closet. Last week I had a lot of fun rocking another great color combination. I paired this orange top with a fitted navy jacket a pair of taupe pants and some wedged sandals. I kept the hair simple with a twist out. Definitely my favorite outfit from last week.
After 6 hours of twisting and twisting and twisting some more my first set of mini-twists for the spring/summer season are done!
It doesn’t typically take me more than 4 hours but these are the smallest twists I’ve ever done. I absolutely love them now but we’ll see how long I can take having my curls locked up.

I work in a corporate environment and because of that one of the most fun things for me to do with my hair is rock a nice big curly fro. My co-workers are so intrigued and amazed by it. It’s far from conventional but my big goal is to kill it every time. I think I managed to do it again.
Message: don’t be afraid to rock a fro at work. You are beautiful and so is your fro!
