Last night I had a bit of free time and decided to set my hair in 5 chunky flat twists using Dark & Lovely’s Au Naturale Super Softening Hair Butter. This is the first time I’ve tried a flat twist out and I absolutely love the results! I didn’t do much for styling, pretty much just unraveled the twists.
This style is great for fall when the humidity is low. We’re not quite there in Atlanta so I’ll be staying inside today :o)
Here are some pics:
OMG! So beautiful I don’t know how to flat twist or else I would try this style so pretty!
Thank you!! I learned how to do it just last year. It’s actually pretty easy. Just keep trying, you’ll get it :o)
I am new to this natural hair journey. I have been natural my whole life as my mother and my grandmother didn’t believe in perms. So now I am just trying to have natural healthy hair! I like the styles you wear as I’m new to this so I don’t really change it up!
Cute! I really like that you didn’t completely unravel them!
Thank you!! I left just the very beginning of each twist in place. Love how it added to the look
So simple yet elegant! I LOVE IT! I can’t flat twist on myself to save my life, but I do it on my daughters and they get the most beautiful waves! I’ll also bantu knot the ends so the ends can be curly too. I’ll have to try the Hair Butter from Dark & Lovely too! 🙂
If you can do it on your daughter it’s only a matter of time until you can do it on your own hair! Just keep trying ’til you get it. I learned just last year and having been playing with various flat twist styles since. The Hair Butter was pretty good. Not a go-to product of mine but I would use it again :o)
