Holiday Glam

Happy Friday!

Hi beauties. Today I’ve got my first holiday look for you guys. It’s super adorable and features a really pretty glow and curls.

Typically my Twist and curls are pulled in my face but this time I wanted to do something a little different. I went for a part down the middle and loved it! You can check out how I styled my hair here.

For my makeup I went for a nice glow and a pop on the lips. Wet n wilds liquid matte lipstick in the color Take It Like A Vamp is the darker shade and I filled in the middle with Rimmel Light Year from the Show Off collection.

My shadows are all from my BH Cosmetics 120 color second edition palette. And the glow, the glow is compliments of the Maybelline Contour V duo stick which has some great illumination in the highlight side.

I topped off the glow with my NYX Pro Highlight and Contour Palette. Love the way it all came together A nice balance between glam and super cute.

Well, that’s it for now!

Helloooo Curls

Hey luvs!

This week I decided to take one of the products from the October curlBOX for a drive. Of course curlBOX leveled up AGAIN with this months box and featured all full size products from one of my favorite product lines EVER! Quenching Coconut Curls by OGX.

I’ve been raving about this line for a year now and we’ll, nothing has changed! This is the most moisture rich live I’ve encountered. The products have so much slip and leave my hair hydrated and soft.

This time I decided to go with one of the products from the line I don’t use that often, the Curl Styling Milk.

I also decided to work with stretched hair which is also something I don’t do very often. The results were well…

Pretty awesome right!? Of course I have a talk through as I discover the results myself in a YouTube video. Check it out here.

Matte Flirty & Curls

Hey luvs!

Today I’ve got a super cute and flirtatious combination to share with you all. Take a look at these gorgeous curls and sultry lip color!

There’s obviously no secret that I am definitely ready for fall. I’ve been itching to start moving into darker lips and this beautiful bergundy color by Milani called Matte Flirty is a perfect shade to help me transition into the new season.

I have a growing collection of Milani’s matte lipsticks because they are so awesome. The application is nice and smooth and the colors are everything. The only thing that could make me love them more is if they didn’t kiss off.

As for these great curls. I used my OGX Beauty Quenching Coconut Curls Hair Butter, my go-to for a juicy defined twist out. This stuff NEVER fails me.

These two great products helped my achieve this fabulous flirty look!

Twist & Curl – DIY Tutorial

Morning luvs!

Today I’ve got the deets on a curl defining style. I know, its a bit different for me right? I typically focus on unique updos but I recently did a curly hair series on my social networks for Valentine’s Day and one of those styles was this super cute and edgy twist and curl.

I wore these beautiful defined curls for three days although they could have lasted much longer. I loved them more and more each day.

3 Day Wash & Go Series

Hi beauties!

It’s not often that you’ll see me wearing a wash and go, but when I do you know I have to make it different! Last weekend I decided I wanted to define my curls. I used the Krystal Eco Styler Gel for definition.

This worked ok but I prefer the Olive Oil Eco Styler. It’s a lot more flexible. At any rate the next three days looked like this.

Day 1 – Messy curls

You can’t go wrong with messy defined curls. After all, that’s pretty much the point of a wash and go. It’s not often that I love day 1 hair but this was life!

Day 2 – High pompadour

Pompadours are one of my absolute favorite styles, so of course I decided to take my day 2 wash and go and throw it up into a bold high pompadour and pair it with some beautiful purple hues.

Day 3 – Head wrapped

A head wrap is a great way to take almost any style  and give it some flare. That’s exactly what I did with my day 3 wash and go hair. Although I don’t have a how to on tying head wraps my lovely @nellynelle19 has a great tutorial on tying headwraps that I took some tips from. You can check it out here

I had a lot of fun with these looks. Which one do you like best?

Fun Flirty Curls on Straightened Hair

Good morning Luvs!

So last night I decided to try out something I haven’t done with my straightened hair, a flexi rid set. Typically I stick with updos when my hair is straight but I thought I’d give it a try.

When I thought about what product I should use to set my hair I wasn’t quite sure what to go with. I was trying to be really careful about not inadvertently changing the texture of my straightened hair back to its curly state by using a product with too much moisture.

I decided to go with the Carol’s Daughter Sacred Tiare Styling Creme. It is obviously Creme based but also on the thicker side so I thought it would be a good choice. I applied the product on each section of hair before installing the rods. I used my usual 7/8″ and 6/8″ diameter and 10″ long rods. I kept the rods in over night.

In the morning I took the rods out and was very pleasantly surprised with the definition. AND my hair was extremely soft!

Next, I separated each curl about three times. I tried not too over separate so that I didn’t create a lot of frizz.

After that I styled my hair by pulling the back up and securing with bobby pins. I love the look of flexi rod curls in my face. Here’s the final look

I’m not sure if these curls will last for the entire day but they sure are beautiful soft and defined now!
