A Little Twist To The Crown Braid

Good morning loves!

Today’s hair is a little unusual for me in that it is not stretched…at all! I was a little lazy this weekend and didn’t wash my hair until this morning. Because of that, my hair is styled wet. I brought back out the Dove Creme Serum and Dark and Lovely Easy Twist Gel N Butter that I got in the March curlBOX and used it to style today’s hair.

As for the style I decided to put a little twist on the crown/halo braid (literally). The style is a total of 3 flat twists that I pulled and pinned into this unique style.

Twisted With Design Essentials

Hi beauties!

The March curlBOX was filled with goodies by Design Essentials. I plan to use the complete system this weekend when I wash my hair but I had to try out the Coconut & Monoi Deep Moisture Milk Souffle.

This product has a great consistency to it. It has a lot of slip which works well for me since I typically work with dry stretched hair. Yesterday I decided on a half crown flat twist with some lift that came out really nice.

I ended up being really lazy last night and slept with my hair just like this.  In the morning I had a nice chunky twist out going on. My hair was still very nice and moisturized from the Moisture Milk Souffle which made my hair prep super simple.   I just rolled twisted and tucked the hair to get today’s look. Love it!

Can’t wait to try out the rest of the Design Essential products in the March CurlBox this weekend. Stay tuned!

A Surprisingly Amazing Combination

Seriously, who would think to combine Dove and Dark and Lovely products? curlBOX of course! So, this morning I decided to take these two new products I got from my February curlBOX for a test drive. The results were like POW!

The Dove Quench Absolute Supreme Creme Serum really served as a great moisturizer. I almost always work with dry stretched hair, and this product did a great job giving my hair some moisture before I started styling.

As for the Dark and Lovely Defining Gel and Moisture Butter, well, let me just pause so I can collect myself to say…A-MAZING! I absolutely love the texture of this stuff. It really is the perfect blend of Gel and Butter. I can definitely tell that this will be a great product for twist and braid out definition, or even rod sets! My hair is so silky with this product. Love love.

The style is a total of three flat twists meticulously placed to form this great shape. I’ll do a recap of this week’s styles but I can already tell you that this is my favorite look of the week.

Here are a few more pics.

The Look That Went Viral

Okay…maybe semi viral. Either way this week has been pretty amazing for TJLuvsBeingNatural. I’m so excited about how many different people I’ve inspired this week with my styles. I’ve gotten somewhere around 500 new Instagram followers, 100 new Facebook followers and about 100 new followers for my YouTube channel that I recently started back up. All of this awesomeness started on Monday with this look and picture.

I called this hair of the day 3 Chunky Tucked Twists. Everyone just seemed to really like it. It was featured on several different natural hair pages was shared several times on Facebook and was featured in Good Hair Magazines blog article “7 Stunning Lady Fades”. The last time I checked there were 15K views on Facebook and over 500K on Instagram I’m sure. I so love inspiring people ❤

Needless to say I'll probably end up doing a tutorial for this look this weekend.
