NYX Highlight & Contour Wonder Stick

Happy Friday Beauties!

I am so excited, this Sunday I fly home to Florida for the holidays. My family and I will be there through January 5th!! Of course I haven’t packed a thing yet, but tonight I’m on it.

I had been contemplating my makeup travel situation and knew I didn’t want to bring a whole lot of makeup. So, I started thinking of how I could accomplish that. I have one key eyeshadow palette 4 key lipsticks, some key brushes and of course my foundation. But, I wanted a way to highlight and contour without having to bring an additional palette. So, I headed over to Ulta where I picked up this

I was so excited about this thing! I used it this morning following the handy guide by MakeupShayla on the side of the packaging. Having never used Creme products to highlight and contour this was new for me.

I applied the products as shown and blended them out. Here are my results. (these photos have not been filtered).

My thoughts, I really like it! It’s easy to use and does a nice job! Excited to have both a highlight and contour in one device!

Well, that’s it for now.

XOXO

Holiday Hair Hacks for Keeping Updos UP

Happy Friday lovelies!

As you’re getting your ideas together on how you want to style your hair for any upcoming holiday events, I wanted to offer a few tips on how to keep your hair in place. Want to say goodbye to unexpected trips to the bathroom to “fix” your hair? Here are a few hairstyling hacks for you:

1. Place your bobby pins correctly

We’ve all probably been guilty of this at some point but, the truth is you’re going to have a tough time keeping your updo up if you’re not putting your bobby pins in correctly.  You want to make sure that the side with the ridges are face down.  This helps to provide traction so that the pins are secure and will hold your hair in place all night.

Another thing to note on placing bobby pins, if you’re looking for extra stability try criss crossing two bobby pins. This will reinforce the hold for your style.

2. Tame those edges

If you’re going for a more sleek look you’re going to want to tame those edges. My primary tool for applying edge tamers or gel to my edges is this

Yep! A toothbrush. This is an amazing application tool for really slicking the hair down.

3. Incorporate flat twists or braids

If you’re not crazy about ultra tamed hair and are looking for a softer look, try incorporating a flat twist or braid into your look. This is an easy way to keep your style soft but secure. Here are a few examples:

4. Twist, Pull & Pin
If you follow me then you already know about this super easy styling technique. With this method you just twist various sections of hair, pull the twisted sections in different directions to form a unique look and bobby pin them in place (correctly of course). Having the hair twisted helps to keep it nice and secure. You can check out one of my twist, pull & pin tutorials here.

Wondering if these tips will work for straight hair? Absolutely!

And be sure to stay tuned for more tips, tutorials and inspiration as I help get you beauties ready to COME THROUGH your holiday events!

SCANDA-LICIOUS

Hi lovelies!

So….yesterday was all kinds of awesome.  From the voluptuous braid out to the major pop on my lips.  I was totally feeling the entire look.  It was appreciated by a lot of my social family and so I wanted to give you guys the deets on this amazing look!

First, the hair.  Oh, the hair.  This look was achieved using products from the Creme of Nature Argan Oil from Morocco line.  What products exactly? Well…these:

  1. Pure-licious Co-wash
  2. Butter-licious Curls Curl Hydrating Creme
  3. Twirling Custard Curl Styling Gel
  4. 100% Pure Argan Oil

Together these products gave me this super moisturized elongated braid out!

I absolutely adore this complete line of products.  There will definitely be more styles to come using this line.

Now…the beat…specifically the lips.  This lippie got so much love yesterday.  So, here’s what I used

  1. Jordan Blue Devine Pencil (which is really an eye liner but worked perfectly on my lips)
  2. NYX Cosmetics Wicked Lipstick in the color Scandalous

This combination was EVERYTHING!

Well…that’s it for now. Until next time lovelies

XOXO

Bold In Blue

Hi luvs!

Today I wanted to share the key deets on this look from last week. I was going for something really dark, crisp and dramatic.

There are a few products that helped me accomplish this. First is my go to 2nd Edition 120 color BH Cosmetics eyeshadow pallet. I used the navy and black shadow for my eyes and on the lips is this NYX Wicked lippie in the color Sinful

I absolutely love this color! It’s so bold but beautiful. I paired it with some big silver earrings that offered a really great contrast to the look.

What’s your favorite bold lippie?

Cat Eye

Morning Beauties!

Today I wanted to share one of the makeup products I am seriously loving right now. These “Cat Eye” colored eye liners by Jordana have been giving me so much life!

The colors are nice and bright and glide right on. From top to bottom these beauties are in the colors Future, Orchid, Twilight and Envy.

Here’s a look at how some of these gorgeous colors look on me…LOVE!

I would definitely recommend these!

My Eyeshadow Staple

Good Morning beauties!

Today I wanted to share some insight on a staple beauty product of mine. I get a lot of questions about whether or not I’m an MUA which is extremely flattering! However, I am just a beauty lover who enjoys playing with beauty products. But, when it comes to my eyes which are very large and expressive in case you hadn’t noticed (lol) I use just one product to achieve different pops of color. BH Cosmetics 2nd Edition 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette is it!

This bad boy has some gorgeous colors that challenge my creativity daily. And, you all know how much I just love to challenge my creativity.

The colors are very pigmented and help me form some great looks.

Edit

There are 3rd 4th and 5th Editions available but I’m still having tons of fun with this 2nd Edition Palette that I’ve had for over a year now, as you can probably tell (lol). You can get either of these Editions for just $16!! I highly recommend it.

That’s it for now! Muuuaahh!

The Pink Pout Takeover

So I look in my little black makeup bag yesterday to find a Milani pink lippie takeover! I guess I hadn’t noticed that I’ve been wearing a lot of pink lipsticks lately. Probably because I was so excited about making my pregnancy announcement!

It looks like pink lippies are my go to this spring for vibrant colorful lips. And these three Milani lipsticks seem to have a permanent place in my makeup bag for the season.

These are the three I happened to capture yesterday but I know there are a couple other pink Milani lippies that I’ll be wearing a lot this spring like Matte Diva and Power Pink. Here’s a look at me wearing Rose Hip and Fruit Punch over the last week or so.

Edit

What are your favorite lippies this season?

Gorgeous Glam with Milani

So I have to contribute yesterday’s glam to the two new Milani products I picked up. The color that they provided was so beautiful!

First is the Tea Rose Powder Blush. I absolutely love this color! It’s very pigmented and goes on extremely soft and smooth. My new favorite blush.

Next is this gorgeous lipstick called Matte Glam. It gave me just the pop I was looking for.

I am falling more and more in love with Milani products. And this is exactly why! Great quality products that are reasonably priced.
